Acrylic and Mixed Media on Canvas

    59 x 42cm

Although part of my Intuitive Abstract series, this painting was completely inspired by our beautiful African Landscape. Trees, grasslands, and our African blue sky, depicted in line and flat panels of colour into which I ‘etched’ nature inspired marks and patterns. The colours are also representational of our landscape in various browns, greens, ochres, yellows, reds, blues, and white.

Wind is a two piece (diptych)acrylic, abstract, large scale painting of trees blowing in the gale force winds in Cape Town. The paintng is made up of colours of light blues, greens, yellows, reds and oranges. The brushstrokes are stippled and rough going in a wild, upward and to the left direction, the same direction as the trees and trees’ leaves, depicting the strength and force of the wind, on the trees pulling it in that direction and giving the painting movement.

This painting is done on two, very large, long and tall canvases.
